1. Hydration - Clients should be well-hydrated before the session, as adequate fluid levels help support the lymphatic system’s function. Drink plenty of water in the hours leading up to the massage.
2. Avoid Heavy Meals - A heavy meal can make the client feel uncomfortable during the massage and can interfere with the body's lymphatic processes. Eat a light meal at least 1-2 hours before their session.
3. Limit Alcohol and Caffeine - Alcohol and caffeine can dehydrate the body and counteract the benefits of lymphatic drainage.It is suggested to avoid these substances for 24 hours prior to their massage.
4. Shower or Bathe - The room will be warm and at times your arms resting above your head. A clean body ensures a more comfortable and hygienic experience, especially when using oils during the massage.
5. Wear Comfortable Clothing - Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing makes it easier to change and relax before and after the session, try to avoid tight garments that could restrict circulation post-massage.
